First Base response to COVID-19

This rapidly changing situation is having a significant impact on people simultaneously across the world.

At times like these, our only focus is the safety and wellbeing of our people; our residents and occupiers, our First Base team and the communities that we are all part of.

As a result:
• All community events have been postponed
• All face-to-face meetings have been changed to phone calls
• Our teams are working remotely and are being supported to stay safe and well

Our local teams in London, Bristol and Brighton are working to support elderly and vulnerable residents and we are in touch with schools, community groups and businesses to offer support and advice where needed.

We have been blown away by the way communities are coming together in these challenging times, and we are committed to play our part.

At a company level, we continue to work on all of our projects and to communicate with all of our stakeholders. We tend to be early adopters of technology and have always encouraged flexible working. Our contingency measures have run smoothly to date and we are trying to maintain ‘business as usual’, as much it can be under these extraordinary circumstances.

We urge everyone to stay safe, follow the advice from the NHS and we will look forward to reconnecting in person once the crisis has abated.
